Aims of the seminar:

  • Information about rules and regulations regarding the master thesis

  • Inspiration and help to start up the master thesis process

  • Input to heads of study for the allocation of supervisors for master thesis

All master students are welcome to participate – even though you are on your 1st or 2nd semester of a master´s programme.

Students who are required to participate are:

If you write a 60 ECTS Thesis, you will start the thesis on your 3rd semester.

The seminar is for these students mandatory on the 2nd and recommended on the 1st semester.

Students that plan an external collaboration, extensive field work or highly preparation demanded labwork should attend the thesis seminar on the 1st semester.

If you write a 30 ECTS Thesis, you will start the thesis on your 4th semester.

The seminar is for these students mandatory on the 3rd and recommended on the 2nd semester.

Students that plan an external collaboration, extensive field work or highly preparation demanded labwork should attend the thesis seminar on the 2nd semester.

E.g..: The seminar is mandatory for students starting their thesis January 2023.

We also recommend that students starting their thesis August 2023 attend, especially if you plan external collaboration, extensive field work or highly preparation demanded labwork.

- 12:15-13.55 - Mandatory common session (11.2-047).

You should participate in this session if you are planning to start your Master Thesis in January 2023

  • Welcome by Kristine Niss, Chair of Study Board for Natural Science.

  • Presentation by Thomas Laumark from RUC Study Guidance

  • Formalities and possibilities by Julie Westh from RUC Administration

  • Experience of writing a master Thesis by Soffie Marie Bram, Alumna student

- 13:55 – 14:10 - 10 min. break

-14.10-16.00 Program sessions in different rooms (11.1-047 / 11.2-047 / 12.1-023 / 12.1-067)

You should participate in this session if you are planning to start your Master Thesis in January 2023 or August 2023 or you wish to get inspiration for you Master Thesis, but you are not planning to start you Master Thesis in January 2023

  • Room 1: Chemical Biology by Anders Malmendal, Head of Studies

  • Room 2: Molecular Health Science by Lotte Jelsbak, Head of Studies

  • Room 3: Physics and Scientific Modelling & Mathematical Bioscience by Kristine Niss and Jesper Schmidt Hansen, Heads of Studies
